Accomodation and Housing
Housing options in Sydney are limited. SYDBMA will do our best to house as many messengers as possible however, cominded our capacity is minimal.
We stronly advise you group up and source your own accomodation. AirBnb and booking.com are your best bet.
Below you can find suggestions of Suburbs to stay in. We will update you on any reccomended hostels/hotels further down the track.
Sydney City
Centre of town, easy access to everything. This is where you will find the most accommodation hotel and hostel wise, look around Central Station for the cheaper options.
Kings Cross and Potts Point
Just east of the city, easy 15-40min ride to all events. Good cafes and vibe during the day (a bit pricey though), although the nightlife has gone downhill over the last decade there are still some decent late night spots. Hostels, hotels and Airbnb's are options here
Redfern
Just south east of the city, you will have an easy 15-30min ride to all events. Great spot with small bars and cheap eats. Can be a little rough but this is an awesome area and a good place to stay. Hostels and Airbnb's are you best options here.
Newtown
Half way between the city and where most of the Sydney Messengers live. Good bar and food scene and probably has the busiest night life in Sydney. Good place to stay and easy ride to all events. Try to avoid the North end of King Street, near Enmore Road and South King Street are the best places to be.
Marrickville
Most of the Sydney Messengers live around this area. Great parks, bars and cheap eats. Our Saturday night party will be hosted near here and it is about a 40min ride to the Cockatoo Island Party Boat meeting spot. If you are going to stay here your best bet is an Airbnb.
Sydney Beaches (Bondi, Coogee, Maroubra)
All our city beaches, while beautiful, are not that convenient to stay at and $$$. It is about a 40min ride to the city and will be over an hour ride to most of the parties. They are super pretty though and we will be visiting them during the event!
